Whilst offering industry-leading leak detection products used across commercial and domestic sectors alike, Waterguard’s digital presence was beginning to stagnate.

Waterguard needed a fresh look — one that would entice both new and ongoing business.

They needed a reimagined website to help attract new partners and customers and provide access to documentation for existing clients.

The Solution


To help Waterguard really stand out, Black Lab proposed a custom design and web build on a Content Management System that gave the team the ability to update content at their will. Starting with a deep dive workshop, the Black Lab team worked with key stakeholders to understand the requirements and needs for their site. The details were collated into a suite of homepage concepts that eventually brought the vision for the website to life.


With a creative style selected, Black Lab rolled out the design to the remaining pages. Once complete and signed off, the website entered its build phase. Using a custom “ground-up” WordPress build, Black Lab created a user-friendly CMS that allowed admin users to control content across the site. Whilst ecommerce functionality was not required at the beginning of the project, the site was structured in such a way that adding it later would be straightforward. Another key feature of the site was to improve conversion rates of visitors to the site; this was achieved using clear “calls to action” and targeted, relevant enquiry forms. This meant the sales team were able to quickly follow up with potential customers understanding from the outset the products or information that they required.


The result was a fully responsive website that has been able to grow with the business.

The Results

Aside from simply catching a visitor’s attention, the site improved rankings with the aid of SEO support during the build. As well as the website meeting Google’s “Core Web Vitals,” conversions and form fills also improved by as much as 29%. Additionally, the site has facilitated further development and growth since launch, adapting as the business has evolved.

Our website did not reflect the cutting-edge nature of our product. It felt outdated and was a pain to update. Black Lab have delivered a site that not only looks stunning but one that my team can easily manage and works to develop leads for us.
